This month, we’re shining a light on two fantastic summer garden transformations that showcase one of our most vibrant and eye-catching paving options. If you’re dreaming of a garden space that radiates warmth, texture and timeless charm, Indian Sandstone is a great option – and our Buff Indian Sandstone paving is hard to beat. Boasting a fantastic depth of character and colour, it’s a feast for the eyes. Indeed, from sandy oranges and warm reds to soft greys, each slab is unique.
Buff Sandstone pairs beautifully with red brick homes, given that it creates a harmonious connection between house and garden. Right now, it’s hugely popular and on trend – and these two projects show exactly why.
The client wanted a simple patio with plenty of character. Above all, the space needed to work for summer socials and relaxed outdoor living.
With that in mind, a clean and contemporary design was created with Buff Indian Sandstone paving. A neat gravel border frames the patio, while a low grey brick wall adds definition and contrast. These features complement the warm tones of the Indian sandstone beautifully and tie it in to the brickwork on the house.
Browse Contemporary PavingThe Indian Sandstone ‘project pack’ paving layout brought the patio to life with bags of character. As a result, the sandstone’s natural colour variation and subtle marbling become the focal point. This, balanced with the simplicity of the design creates an inviting space with a refined finish.
Whether hosting friends, enjoying a family barbecue or unwinding with a glass of wine, this patio provides the perfect setting.
The client wanted to better connect the upper and lower areas of the garden. They also wanted a structured space that felt fun and inviting for socialising. Alda Landscapes designed and built a solution that brought both ideas together.
To make the most of the sloping site, they created a series of terraces using Buff Indian Sandstone paving. This approach adds interest, improves flow and creates distinct areas to enjoy. Meanwhile, sweeping curved steps link each level and guide you through the garden. By using the same sandstone throughout, they achieved a cohesive and natural look.
A closer look at Buff SandstoneBuilt-in raised beds add colour and softness to the design. In turn, the planting contrasts beautifully with the warm tones of the stone. The sandstone also pairs perfectly with the rich red brickwork, with its varied shades reflecting the colours of the surrounding walls.
As a result, the garden feels connected, welcoming and full of character. Different levels create opportunities for seating, entertaining and relaxing. Ultimately, this is a garden designed for bringing people together and making the most of summer days.
Whether you’re drawn to smart and simple or layered and leafy, Buff Indian Sandstone is a winning choice for any outdoor project.
