Your FAQs

  • Choosing between natural stone paving and porcelain tiles? Each offers unique benefits. Natural stone brings timeless beauty, organic texture, and variation that adds character to any space. It ages gracefully and blends effortlessly with outdoor settings. Whereas porcelain paving is sleek, low-maintenance, and highly durable. It resists stains, scratches, and weather, making it perfect for modern living. With this in mind, when deciding on natural stone vs porcelain, think about your style, lifestyle, and how you use the space.

  • Limestone paving offers a clean, elegant look that suits both modern and classic interiors. For outdoor spaces, limestone paving creates a smooth, uniform finish with a timeless feel. Whereas if you prefer more natural variation, Indian sandstone slabs bring rich tones and textures that add character. Sandstone paving is ideal for creating warm, rustic environments with plenty of visual interest. In short, both materials are durable, beautiful, and crafted to enhance everyday living.

  • We always recommend ordering 10% extra to cover cutting, minor imperfections and breakages. Planning ahead helps everything run smoothly. Keep in mind that if you place a separate order later, the new stone or tiles may come from a different batch and could vary slightly in size or shade. To keep things consistent, it’s best to order everything at once, especially if your space needs a uniform finish. If you’re going for a herringbone, diagonal, or other detailed layout, consider ordering at least 15% extra to allow for extra cuts and a perfect fit. Please get in touch if you need help calculating quantities.

  • Most of our stone is kept in stock, so we can usually deliver within a few working days. If you place your order in the morning, we’ll often be able to arrange next day delivery. Some products do sell out quickly, so once you’ve made your choice, it’s best to place your order as soon as possible to avoid missing out. If you’re ordering bespoke masonry or a special item, we’ll need a little more time to process it. Therefore the sooner we receive your order, the sooner we can get started.

  • You’re welcome to make changes to your order before payment. Once your order is packed and scheduled for delivery, changes or cancellations may incur charges, depending on how far along we are. In many cases, your order will leave the stone yard a few days before your scheduled delivery date. We’ll always do our best to help, and the more notice you can give us, the easier it is to make adjustments.

  • Delivery methods depend on how much stone you’ve ordered and where it’s going. Local orders arrive on our own well-equipped vehicles, brought to you by our friendly and reliable drivers. If you’d like your crates placed on a driveway or in a front garden, we’ll accommodate where access allows, always at the driver’s discretion. Meanwhile, nationwide deliveries are handled by a trusted external pallet freight company, who will give you a convenient 2-hour window for delivery.

  • Our deliveries are often made using large vehicles, so it’s important to let us know of any access limitations in advance. This could include width or height restrictions, Red Routes, or permit-only parking bays. We have a range of vehicles to suit different locations and will do our best to find a solution. However, if you’re unsure, just get in touch – we’re happy to help plan the best way to get your order to you.

  • Upon delivery, please inspect your order and note any visible damage on the delivery note. Indeed, if you believe there’s an issue with your order, please contact us as soon as possible. It’s much harder to resolve issues once the product has been installed. Damaged tiles can often be used in cuts, so we recommend ordering an additional 10% to account for cuts and potential wastage. If your order is incorrect, damaged on delivery, faulty, or not as described, you have 30 days from delivery to arrange a return. Should there be an issue with your product, we will collect it at no cost to you.

  • You have the right to cancel your order within 28 days of delivery, as long as the products are in their original condition and packaging, for a refund or exchange. A 20% restocking fee will apply to all returned goods. We will issue your refund within a week of receiving the returned goods. You can arrange the return yourself, or we can collect it for a fee (£100 per pallet, postcode dependent). However, please note the only exception is bespoke or pre-sealed items, which are non-returnable.

  • Yes, natural stone products require proper sealing and care. For exterior stone tiles, we recommend using a water-based sealer. While pressure washing can clean them, it may disrupt the sealer. After washing, let the tiles dry for a few days, ensuring the temperature stays above 5 degrees. Then, apply a fresh coat of water-based sealer to keep your tiles protected and looking their best. Please get in touch for more information.

  • How often you need to reseal your patio depends on the type of sealer used and the conditions it’s exposed to. Topical sealers, which sit on the surface, usually need reapplying every few years. Foot traffic, weather, and the patio material all play a part. However, strong sun, heavy rain, and freeze-thaw cycles can wear down the sealer over time. Get in touch for more information.

  • No, porcelain tiles do not require sealing. Porcelain has an extremely low porosity, meaning it naturally resists water, stains, and frost. Consequently, its low absorption rate makes it a durable and practical choice for both indoor and outdoor use.
