Graphite Limestone Paving provides the perfect balance of sophistication and adaptability. It has become one of our most popular natural stones over the last few years. Unlike some of our other natural stones which contain a variety of colours, Graphite Limestone has a consistent grey palette. This makes it a versatile and stylish option for any garden.
Graphite Limestone Paving is the perfect middle ground between contemporary porcelain and rustic sandstone. Moreover, its sawn edges and light tonal variation give it a contemporary appearance, whilst retaining the character of the natural stone.
This project by Finescape Ltd has used it to contrast white rendered walls with matching Graphite Limestone as copings. The grey tones of the paving creates a neutral backdrop that allows colourful planting to shine.
We stock Graphite Limestone Paving in either 900×600 or mixed (four) size patio packs, both with machine cut edges. The machine cut edges allow you to lay the slabs closer together than our hand cut products. This creates a neater, more contemporary aesthetic reminiscent of porcelain tiles.
Alda Landscapes has added interest to the project by varying the direction of the paving, enclosed in two beautiful circles. Our Black Limestone edging setts frame the circles, creating a perfect contrast and outline to the areas.

The paving is hand split, then sawn into perfectly uniform slabs. The hand split surface of the stone is lightly riven and so it’s naturally non slip.
It is certainly worth noting that this paving’s colour will gradually lighten over time. Moreover, for some customers this is part of the charm of choosing a natural stone paving over porcelain. Another attraction of a natural stone like this over porcelain is the lightly undulating texture of each slab and subtle variety throughout. Indeed, in our view, imperfection is perfection and this is something that manmade porcelain tiles will never be able to recreate.
