Caring for Clay Paving

To keep your pavers clean, use an alkaline cleaner such as Lithofin Algex – especially useful in shaded or damp areas where moss or algae can build up. After cleaning, check the joints and top up with kiln-dried sand if necessary to maintain stability and appearance.

One of the great advantages of clay pavers is that they don’t require sealing to stay attractive or functional. Their natural durability and rich colour hold up beautifully over time. However, in certain areas – like driveways or sloped pathways – a stabilising sealant can be beneficial. It helps lock the jointing sand in place, especially during the early stages after installation, or in areas prone to heavy rain or erosion.
