Striking and sophisticated, Chelmer Valley Charcoal Grey clay pavers bring a confident edge to contemporary outdoor design. With their deep, consistent finish and smooth, modern lines, these pavers are ideal for creating clean geometry in terraces, courtyards, and sleek urban gardens. Their bold charcoal tone offers a dramatic contrast against soft planting or pale architectural materials.
Skilled artisans craft these clay pavers from high-quality natural clay and fire them for durability, ensuring long-lasting resistance to frost, wear, and shifting weather. Their dense structure handles high-traffic areas with ease, while their natural colour resists fading, maintaining a crisp, dark aesthetic year after year.
Chelmer Valley Charcoal Grey pavers deliver a practical, low-maintenance, and sustainable solution for outdoor spaces. Their slip-resistant surface ensures secure footing in wet or icy conditions, and their eco-friendly production promotes thoughtful, responsible landscaping. Use them to frame a minimalist courtyard or define a bold garden path.

Caring for Clay Paving
Clay paving is built to stand the test of time, but a little regular maintenance helps it look its best year after year. To keep your pavers clean, use an alkaline cleaner such as Lithofin Algex – especially useful in shaded or damp areas where moss or algae can build up. Gently scrubbing or brushing the surface can help lift dirt before rinsing it away. A jet wash works well too, just remember to keep the nozzle at a 45° angle to avoid damaging the joints between the pavers. After cleaning, check the joints and top up with kiln-dried sand if necessary to maintain stability and appearance.
One of the great advantages of clay pavers is that they don’t require sealing to stay attractive or functional. Their natural durability and rich colour hold up beautifully over time. However, in certain areas – like driveways or sloped pathways – a stabilising sealant can be beneficial. It helps lock the jointing sand in place, especially during the early stages after installation, or in areas prone to heavy rain or erosion. If you do choose to seal, go for a breathable, non-glossy product designed specifically for clay to preserve the natural look.
