We were looking for a dark paving slab that complimented the Burnt Cedar cladding we have on our house. The Black Limestone seemed like a great option as its dark colouring was consistent and the machine cut edges have a contemporary look. Over time it has faded to a medium grey which we actually prefer as it now provides a nice contrast to the cladding.

Black Limestone paving offers an impressive, cost-effective alternative to Brazilian black slate. With its deep, rich colouring, this limestone paving adds a bold, dramatic statement to any outdoor area. Initially featuring a striking dark tone, Black Limestone paving slabs create an elegant, sophisticated look for gardens, patios, and pathways.
Over time, and when exposed to direct sunlight, Black Limestone paving naturally fades to a soft, washed-out light grey. This gradual change adds character and a weathered charm that many homeowners appreciate. Moreover, the natural ageing process allows the paving to blend seamlessly into traditional and modern landscapes alike.
Importantly, Black Limestone provides excellent value without sacrificing durability or style. It offers a hard-wearing surface that withstands foot traffic, weather changes, and daily use with ease. Therefore it is a smart choice for anyone seeking beauty and practicality combined.

We recommend sealing most limestone tiles after installation, to protect their natural beauty and extend their lifespan. A high quality breathable sealer helps guard against staining, moisture penetration, and weathering, particularly in outdoor or high traffic areas. Regular maintenance is simple – sweep frequently to remove debris and clean occasionally with a pH neutral stone cleaner. Avoid using acidic or abrasive products, as these can damage the surface. In short, with proper care and periodic resealing, your limestone will retain its beauty for years to come.
